Steven Tyler

Steven TylerUnder the guidance under the direction of Frank Connelly, their first manager, they spent some time on Boston's clubs circuit. The group began working with Steve Leber (New York) and David Krebs (New York). They subsequently signed a record deal in 1972 and debuted their debut album titled "Eponymous" in 1973. It was then followed by Get Your Wings, Toys in the Attic, Rocks and Draw the Line, which brought Aerosmith into international fame and recognition. The albums were awash with iconic hits such as "Dream On", "Walk This Way" as well as "Sweet Emotion". Aerosmith's first five albums were all multi-platinum. Toys in the Attic and Rocks have been considered as some of the best hard rock albums of all time. As the decade went by however, the group's life of constant touring, recording and living together started wearing their bodies. Tyler and Perry were frequently referred to as the Toxic Twins, for their legendary intake of stimulants and heroin. Their relationship is documented in numerous Aerosmith's video recordings as well as in Aerosmith Behind the Music. Tyler seemed more committed to Aerosmith and disliked Perry for her passive behavior. He also envied Perry's priority of women throughout his life. The dynamic of tension between Tyler, Perry, and their once-friendly girlfriends was apparently one of the main reasons for the slow decline of Aerosmith, circa 1980.
